1. Local Resident Priority for commercial corners near housing

   To encourage walkability and reduce traffic, there should be small corner shops w/ beer & wine, delis, as well as some light dining, gastropub, etc. within neighborhoods or ground level of apartments...

   To encourage walkability and reduce traffic, there should be small corner shops w/ beer & wine, delis, as well as some light dining, gastropub, etc. within neighborhoods or ground level of apartments primarily for residents without need for much parking space. Parking should be shrunk & de-prioritized with walking access cut-throughs. To work economically, it would need to be within a quarter mile of apartments, townhomes, senior living complexes... But hopefully within 1/2 mi from a big portion of a neighborhood or two. Being able to walk for coffee, donuts, chips & margaritas is one of the main reasons we moved to our neighborhood, but walking around the back & side of bldg and then through all the parking lots is the worst part. Commercial corners shouldn't be solid rectangles or L-shaped buildings and should include walking paths behind into the neighborhood or apartments would be really fun instead of having to walk on the side of major roads and through parking lots.
