(June 2, 2020) NTTA has advised the City of Frisco that the following closures ar needed for construction activities associated with the SRT Fourth Lane Project, Tuesday, June 2, through the morning of Wednesday, June 3 (Overnight)
The following cloures will take place from 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, to 5 a.m., Wednesday, June 3:
- Two east- and westbound left lanes of SRT over Preston Rd
- All lanes of northbound Preston Rd between north- and southbound SH 121 (the SRT frontage road)
- Westbound Preston Rd U-turn lane
Northbound Preston Road detour: Drivers will turn right onto SH 121 and make a U-turn at Hillcrest Rd/Rasor Blvd. Drivers will then continue east to Preston Rd, where they will turn right. Note: The Preston Rd flyover bridge will remain open to traffic.

Construction work for this project includes adding a fourth lane in each direction from US 75 to south of Denton Tap Rd. Changeable message signs will be placed prior to lane closures in the construction area. NTTA coordinated these closures with the Cities of Plano and Frisco and TxDOT. All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary. Drivers are urged to use caution in the construction area.
