Frisco Fire Department receives American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award

(MAY 27, 2020) Frisco Fire Department has received the 2020 Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Plus Award for the second consecutive year. The American Heart Association recognizes that prehospital personnel are the first providers of care to patients suffering from a STEMI heart attack and are an integral part of the STEMI system of care impacting the overall care and outcome of the patient.

Mission: Lifeline EMS recognition is a program designed to showcase Emergency Medical Service organization across the nation for excellent STEMI care. Prehospital EMS providers are often the first to care for patients suffering from cardiac emergencies. The role of EMS is the care of these patients is crucial and often sets the course for the patient’s outcome. The overarching goals of Mission: Lifeline are to bring stakeholders together in a collaborative manner and to reduce mortality and morbidity for these patients while improving overall quality of care and patient outcomes.

“Frisco Fire Department remains committed to providing the highest level of care for heart attack patients in the pre-hospital setting,” said Mark Piland, Frisco Fire Chief. “We are pleased to be recognized for the dedication of our firefighters and achievements in emergency medical care efforts through Mission: Lifeline.”
