[ARCHIVED] Skeletal Remains Found

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at approximately 1:40 PM, officers with the Frisco Police Department responded to the 7600 block of Peaceful Lane to a report that skeletal remains had been discovered by a survey crew in the area. Once officers arrived on scene, they located skeletal remains in a heavily wooded area off of Peaceful Lane.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Collin County Medical Examiners, responded to the scene and began their investigation. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the remains may be linked to a 2015 missing person case involving 61 year old Sidney Sorenson, Jr., of Frisco.

The remains have been released to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.
Mr. Sorenson left his residence on March 05, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm and was last seen walking toward Warren Sports Complex. He was reported missing on March 06, 2015, at which point, an intense search began to locate Mr. Sorenson.

The search lasted 5 days and involved multiple resources including but not limited to Texas DPS Helicopter Air Support, Rescue 1 Canine, the Collin County Dive Team with divers and ATV’s, as well as others. The search also included foot searches conducted by numerous police personnel, volunteers and Mr. Sorenson’s family members.

The Frisco Police Department is seeking information pertaining to this case. If you have any information, please contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.

This matter is currently under investigation and no further info is being released at this time.
