City of Frisco Amended Declaration of Local Disaster for Public Health Emergency

(March 19, 2020) Today, Mayor Jeff Cheney amended his public health emergency declaration to align with Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order, which states (generally):  

  • Every person shall avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people; 
  • People shall avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts or visiting gyms or massage parlors; Drive-thru, pickup or delivery options are allowed and highly encouraged;
  • People shall not visit nursing homes, retirement or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance; 
  • Schools shall temporarily close.  

This (These) declarations do not mandate:  

  • Sheltering in place; 
  • All critical infrastructure will remain operational; 
  • Domestic travel will remain unrestricted; 
  • City of Frisco and businesses will continue providing essential services; 
  • Employees in offices and workplaces that remain open should practice good hygiene; 
  • Where feasible, employees should work from home.
