Collin, Denton Counties Under Burn Bans

(September 25 2019) On September 24, 2019, Denton County issued a mandatory burn ban.

According to a press release, the Denton County Commissioners Court, "in the interest of fire safety and fire prevention, is asking for the cooperation of all Denton County residents with respect to outdoor burning. High winds, low humidity, and dead/dormant vegetation have contributed to the risk of large and destructive wildfires...Denton County has experienced an increase in wildfires this season with several burning multiple acres."

Collin County has also been under a burn ban since September 9, 2019.
