(August 5, 2019) A new section of Hillcrest Road has been constructed that will connect up to Rockhill Parkway for the first time. In preparation for the new road opening, a new traffic signal on Rockhill Parkway at Hillcrest Road is being activated today in the flashing mode. While in the flashing mode, traffic on Rockhill Parkway will not have to stop at the flashing yellow light which is warning motorists that the new road is about to open and the signal is about to start operating.
On Thursday, August 8, the traffic signal will become fully operational and traffic will begin turning to and from Hillcrest Road for the first time. This new road connection will make it easier for residents to reach the new Hays Middle School, which is located just south of the intersection.
Motorists are urged to use caution at the intersection of Rockhill and Hillcrest as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns. Motorists should pay special attention to the fact that traffic will increase at this intersection on August 14, the first day of school for Hays Middle School and the rest of the Prosper Independent School District.
