[ARCHIVED] 17th Annual Shattered Dreams

FRISCO, TX – The Frisco Police Department, in conjunction with the Frisco Fire Department, Frisco Independent School District, and Baylor Scott and White Hospital, will be hosting the 17th annual Shattered Dreams program at both Centennial and Wakeland High Schools.  The program will be held on April 24-25 at Centennial HS and April 25-26 at Wakeland HS, beginning at 9:00AM on the first day (respectively) and run through the following morning.

Shattered Dreams is a two-day program designed to educate students about the dangers of underage drinking and the severe consequences that can result from impaired driving. A Citizen Advisory Committee that oversees Frisco’s Photo Enforcement program voted to use red light fines to fund this presentation. The program is coordinated by the police department’s School Resource Officer unit and rotates through different high schools each year.

As part of the Shattered Dreams experience, a motor vehicle crash reenactment will take place in each school’s parking lot. This will include an actual response from police, fire, PHI Air Medical and other emergency responders, weather permitting.

Due to the reenactment, on April 24 Rolater Road from Coit Road to Whittingham Drive will be closed.  On April 25, Legacy Drive will be closed between Andrew and Avon.  The road closures will last from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during these times.
