[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Frisco Police Investigating Death of a Child and Mother

FRISCO, TX – The Frisco Police Department continues to investigate what led to the death of a child, identified as 6-year-old Frisco resident Tejas Pachika.  The child’s mother, 41-year-old Frisco resident Vasavi Vaka, who had been previously hospitalized as a result of the incident, died on Friday, April 5, 2019.

On Saturday, March 23, 2019, at around 5:55 PM, Frisco 911 received a call regarding a welfare concern in the 15200 block of Preachers Lane.  Officers with the Frisco Police and Fire Departments responded and located Tejas and Ms. Vaka in a parked vehicle.  Tejas was pronounced deceased on scene, and Ms. Vaka was transported to a local hospital where she remained hospitalized until her death. 

The focus of the investigation continues to be that this is a homicide/suicide, though a final autopsy report has not been completed. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
