(March 1, 2019) As part of the City’s widening project, traffic patterns will be modified on Main Street between Legacy Drive and Teel Parkway staring at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 4. Westbound traffic on Main Street will be switched so that east and westbound traffic will share the south half of the road, reducing Main Street to one lane in each direction. This will enable the contractor to repair and widen the north half of the road. The traffic switch will start at Kentland Drive and will end just east of Teel Parkway. This traffic switch is expected to remain in place for 8 weeks and, during this time, motorists should expect delay in the eastbound direction during the morning rush hour and in the westbound direction during the afternoon rush hour.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area during the traffic switch and to watch for flaggers. After the switch, all motorists should pay special attention to the new location of stop lines and turn lanes and are urged to use caution in the construction zone as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns.
