(December 21, 2018) Traffic will be switched at the intersection of Ohio Drive and Warren Parkway on Saturday, December 22, so that traffic will begin driving on the west half of the new roundabout while the east half is constructed. This will create a new traffic pattern and a new configuration of road closures which will be in effect for about three months. The traffic switch will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and will take several hours to complete. Motorists should use caution in the work zone and watch for flaggers.
After the switch, the intersection will begin operating as a roundabout, but only the west side of the roundabout will be open. Northbound Ohio Drive will be closed at the intersection, and Warren Parkway will be closed east of Ohio Drive. See the attached map.
Southbound traffic on Ohio Drive will circulate around the roundabout and can exit to westbound Warren Parkway or southbound Ohio Drive. Eastbound traffic on Warren Parkway will yield to traffic already in the roundabout, and then can circulate to reach southbound Ohio Drive. No other movements will be possible because the other half of the roundabout will be under construction.
Road Closures and Detours
Northbound Ohio Drive will be closed between Gaylord Parkway and Warren Parkway. Only local traffic will be permitted on northbound Ohio Drive north of Gaylord Parkway to reach the apartment complex driveway or the driveway behind the Lowe’s. Northbound Ohio Drive will be closed to all traffic at the Lowe’s driveway. Traffic on northbound Ohio Drive should use Gaylord Parkway, Preston Road, and John Hickman Parkway as a detour route around the closure. Detour signs will be posted.
Warren Parkway will be closed to all traffic between Ohio Drive and Darcy Lane. Only local traffic will be permitted on Warren Parkway between Darcy Lane and Hillcrest Road. Traffic that normally uses Warren Parkway should use Lebanon Road or the SH 121 frontage roads as alternate routes. Detour signs will be posted.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternative route in advance.
Motorists can use the Waze app to navigate around road closures:

When construction is complete, the intersection of Warren Parkway and Ohio Drive will be a multi-lane roundabout similar to the one at John Hickman Parkway and Gaylord Parkway. Click here for more information about multi-lane roundabouts in Frisco.
