[ARCHIVED] ‘Rotating” Large Dog Area and More Parking Now at Ruff Range

Visitors to the popular Ruff Range Dog Park will find double the parking and a second large dog area that keeps one area open while the other recovers from everyday wear. Beginning Aug. 25, large dogs (35 lbs +) and their owner’s will no longer have to wait for the grass to regrow to enjoy the park.

The new large dog area mirrors the current space in size and amenities with water stations, lighted pavilion with picnic tables, stone bench seating, and a dog wash station.

In addition to more parking, the entrance to the dog park has expanded allowing for more room at the dog wash station, as well as coming and going. Frisco Dog Park. Inc., a nonprofit that helps defray the cost of park maintenance, is currently selling personalized bricks to be installed at the plaza entrance. Project cost for the Ruff Range Dog Park improvements were approximately $400,000 and generously funded by the Frisco Community Development Corporation.

The Ruff Range Dog Park is at 5335 4th Army Memorial Road adjacent to B.F. Phillips Community Park. Hours are six days a week, sunrise to sunset. The park is closed Thursdays for maintenance.
