Update: Frisco Police Investigate Shooting

Frisco Detectives and Crime Scene personnel are investigating a shooting in the 6000 block of Larkspur Lane. Officers were dispatched to the shooting at approximately 4:22 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017. Upon arrival, officers were able to take the 45 year old adult male shooter into custody without incident. He is currently being held in the Frisco Jail and is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. A 44 year old adult male victim was shot at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. The shooter has been identified as Radu Chivu of Frisco.

Initial investigation by detectives revealed that the victim was a door to door roofing solicitor and was confronted by the shooter. The shooting occurred outside of the home. A no soliciting sign was observed outside of the shooter’s home during the initial investigation. There is no threat to public safety. Detectives continue to investigate the cause of the shooting.

A cause of the shooting has not yet been determined and the incident is currently under investigation. Nothing further will be released this evening.
