[ARCHIVED] Simpson Plaza closed in front of Municipal Center partially Friday, and fully on Saturday

(October 19, 2023) Simpson Plaza will be partially closed on Friday, Oct. 20, and fully closed on Saturday, Oct. 21, to setup for and host the inaugural Frisco International Fest.  The event is open to the public on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m.  All roads will reopen by 10 p.m. Saturday night.

The specific road closures for each day are described below (see PDF of map)

Friday, October 20

  • The portion of Simpson Plaza directly in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed Friday, Oct. 20, beginning at 7 a.m. and will remain closed through Saturday.  On Friday, drivers will still be able to approach City Hall from all directions, but they will not be able to drive or park directly in front of the building.
  • Any driver who circulates around Simpson Plaza will be diverted to circulate around the back of the building where they will have access to the free parking garage.  ADA accessible parking is available on each level of the garage next to the elevator.

Saturday, October 21

  • All of the roads around Simpson Plaza will be closed Saturday, Oct. 21, starting at 6 a.m.   As a result, there will be no vehicular access to the front of City Hall and Coleman Blvd. will only be accessible from the north.  During this closure, Frisco Square residents, customers, and those attending the event will need to take alternate routes to their destinations.  Detour signs will be posted.

Those approaching on Main St. can turn on World Cup Way or Coleman Blvd. to reach the western parking garage, or turn south on John W. Elliott Dr. to reach Page St. to access the municipal parking garage. Those approaching on northbound Dallas Pkwy. can turn east on Page St. to reach the municipal parking garage.  ADA accessible parking is available on each level of the garage next to the elevator.

Free event parking available. See parking options listed below.
