[ARCHIVED] Intersection of 5th & Elm Streets closed Friday and Saturday, September 1-2

(August 31, 2023) The intersection of 5th St. and Elm St. will be closed for two days starting Friday, September 1, so that pavers can be installed in the middle of the intersection. The intersection will reopen by Saturday evening, September 2 (see PDF of map).

During this closure, no traffic will be able to pass through the intersection, and only local traffic will be allowed in each block leading to the intersection.

Northbound traffic on Parkwood Blvd./5th St. will be diverted east onto Hickory St. and then north on South County Rd. to reach Main St.
Traffic on Main St. wishing to go south on 5th St./Parkwood Blvd. should use 3rd St. to go south and then turn east on Pecan St. to reach 5th St.

Detour signs will be posted. Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance.
