[ARCHIVED] Northbound Dallas Pkwy closed (Panther Creek Pkwy - University Drive), Saturday Morning

(May 4, 2023) Various intersections along Parkwood Blvd, Gaylord Pkwy, and Dallas Pkwy will be controlled by police officers and segments of northbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed Saturday morning, May 6, for the “Bike MS” bicycle ride.  (See attached map.)

  • The ride starts at 7 a.m. at Stonebriar Mall and travels north on Parkwood Blvd, west on Gaylord Pkwy, and then travels north on Dallas Pkwy to University Dr (US 380) and beyond.  The police department will be controlling the intersections along this route in order to facilitate the movement of cyclists through Frisco.
  • The northbound Dallas Pkwy frontage road will be closed between Panther Creek Pkwy and University Dr (US 380) between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Northbound motorists should use the Dallas North Tollway or Preston Rd as alternate routes to University Dr.  Panther Creek Pkwy and PGA Pkwy will remain open, but motorists on those roads will not be able to turn onto the northbound Dallas Pkwy.  In order to go north, these motorists will need to turn south on Dallas Pkwy, make a u-turn at Eldorado Pkwy, and then use the northbound entrance ramp to enter the Dallas North Tollway.
  • Police will also be controlling the intersection of Dallas Pkwy and University Dr where the bicycle ride will continue north into Prosper.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and seek an alternate route in advance.  As a reminder, drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate around road closures.  Click here to learn about Waze or install it on your smartphone.
