[ARCHIVED] Simpson Plaza Closed in Front of Municipal Center, Friday Sept. 16

(September 15, 2022)  The majority of Simpson Plaza in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed on Friday, September 16, for a special event.  The roads will close at 7 a.m. and will reopen at midnight.  During the closure, drivers will still be able to approach City Hall and the Public Library from the north using Coleman Blvd and from the west (from Dallas Pkwy), but they will not be able to drive or park in front of the building (see attached map).  Any traffic entering from those directions will be diverted to the back of the building where they will have access to the free parking garage.  Any traffic approaching from the east should go south on John W. Elliott Dr. and use Page St. to reach the parking garage.  ADA accessible parking is available on each level of the garage next to the elevator.

Drivers should plan to take an alternative route in advance.
