[ARCHIVED] Sections of NB Dallas Pkwy, PGA Pkwy Closed Friday Night, July 22

(July 22, 2022) As part of NTTA’s widening project, most of the movements at the intersection of Dallas Pkwy and PGA Pkwy will be closed Friday night, July 22, as will westbound PGA Pkwy between Preston Rd and Dallas Pkwy. The roads will close at 9 p.m. Friday night and will reopen by 5 a.m. Saturday morning.  The specific road closures are shown on the attached map and described below.  Detour signs will be posted.

  • Northbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed at PGA Pkwy and all traffic on that road will be forced to turn right onto PGA Pkwy.  Drivers should use Preston Rd to continue their journey north.
  • Eastbound PGA Pkwy will be closed at Dallas Pkwy and all traffic on that road will be forced to turn right onto southbound Dallas Pkwy.  Drivers  can make a u-turn at the Fields Pkwy underpass and then use northbound Dallas Pkwy to reach PGA Pkwy and continue their journey east.
  • Southbound Dallas Pkwy will not be affected except that no one on that road will be able to turn left onto eastbound PGA Pkwy.  Drivers  wanting to make this movement can follow the detour described above by making a u-turn at the Fields Pkwy underpass.
  • Westbound PGA Pkwy will be closed between Preston Rd and Dallas Pkwy. Drivers  will need to use Preston Rd to go north to US 380 or south to Eldorado Pkwy in order to reach Dallas Pkwy.
  • Star Business Park:  During these overnight hours, any traffic headed to Star Business Park must use the entrances on Preston Rd (Corporate Dr or Central Dr) or can use northbound Dallas Pkwy and eastbound PGA Pkwy to reach Gateway Dr.  Any traffic leaving Star Business Park must use Preston Rd to reach other destinations.  This can be done by exiting from Corporate Dr or Central Dr onto Preston Rd, or by turning left from Gateway Dr and using eastbound PGA Pkwy to reach Preston Rd.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to seek an alternate route in advance.  As a reminder, drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate around road closures.  Click here to learn about Waze or install it on your smartphone.
