[ARCHIVED] Traffic Switch on Legacy Drive between SH 121 and Warren Parkway Begins June 8

(June 6, 2022) Traffic patterns on Legacy Drive between SH 121 and Warren Parkway will change starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8.  The northbound and southbound traffic currently sharing the west half of Legacy Drive will switch to share the new pavement on the east half of the road.

This will allow the contractor to reconstruct and widen the west half of Legacy Drive.  The traffic switch will start just north of SH 121 and will end just south of Warren Parkway. See the  map (PDF).  This traffic switch is expected to remain in place for about nine months.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area during the traffic switch and to watch for flaggers.  After the switch, all motorists should pay special attention to the new location of stop lines and turn lanes while people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns.

This traffic switch is the second phase of the project that will widen Legacy Drive from a four-lane divided roadway to a six-lane divided roadway between SH 121 and Warren Parkway, with an estimated completion date in the spring 2023.  To see the overall schedule for the project and to keep track of the anticipated work in the coming weeks, please visit Friscotexas.gov/Legacy.
