[ARCHIVED] Dallas Parkway closed between Stonebrook Pkwy and Cotton Gin Rd on Thursday, November 11

(November 10, 2021) Northbound and southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed to through traffic between Stonebrook Pkwy and Cotton Gin Rd on Thursday, November 11, while the BNSF Railroad repairs the railroad crossings.  Both directions of the frontage road will close at 8 a.m. Thursday morning and are expected to reopen by 6 p.m. that evening.  All Dallas North Tollway entrance and exit ramps will remain open and access will be maintained to the U-turn lanes on either side of the railroad, but the frontage roads will be closed to all traffic in both directions at the railroad crossing.  The specific road closures and detours are shown in the attached map (PDF) and are explained below:

Northbound Dallas Parkway will be closed to through traffic at Stonebrook Pkwy.   The only traffic allowed north of Stonebrook Pkwy will be motorists headed for the northbound entrance ramp onto the Dallas North Tollway.  Any northbound traffic that does not enter the Dallas North Tollway will be forced to make a U-turn at the railroad tracks and head back to Stonebrook Pkwy.  (Residents of the Sterling Ranch neighborhood can use this U-turn route to access Stallion Ln.)  Drivers who normally use northbound Dallas Pkwy will be directed to take Stonebrook Pkwy, Legacy Dr and Cotton Gin Rd as an alternate route around the road closure, as shown in the map.  Detour signs will be posted.

Southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed to through traffic at Cotton Gin Rd.  The only traffic allowed south of Cotton Gin Rd will be motorists headed for the southbound entrance ramp onto the Dallas North Tollway or for Genesis Ct.  Any southbound traffic that does not enter the Dallas North Tollway will be forced to make a U-turn at the railroad tracks and head back to Cotton Gin Rd.  (Employees and customers of the Stewart Creek Office Center and IBB Design will use this U-turn route to access Genesis Ct.)  Drivers who normally use southbound Dallas Pkwy will be directed to take Cotton Gin Rd, Legacy Dr and Stonebrook Pkwy as an alternative route around the road closure, as shown in the map.  Detour signs will be posted.

Drivers should plan to take an alternative route in advance.
