[ARCHIVED] Partial closure of Simpson Plaza in front of Municipal Center Friday evening; No parking during day

(September 10, 2021) Due to a special event being held in Simpson Plaza Friday night, no parking will be allowed directly in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center during the day on September 10, and the portion of Frisco Square Blvd directly in front of the Municipal Center will be closed to traffic that night.  Those wishing to park in front of City Hall or the Public Library on Friday can drive to the back of the building and park in the free parking garage.  ADA accessible parking is available on each level of the garage next to the elevator.

The Public Library will close at 6 p.m. at which time the road in front of the Municipal Center will also close to traffic.  During the closure, drivers will still be able to approach the Municipal Center from all directions, but they will not be able to drive or park directly in front of the building (see attached map).  Any driver who circulates around Simpson Plaza will be diverted to circulate around the back of the building where they will have access to the free parking garage.  The road will reopen to traffic at 11 p.m.

Please consider using the Waze app to navigate around road closures. Learn more and download the app to your smartphone.
