Modified Hours For Facilities, Programs Catering To Younger Children Due To Surging COVID Cases

(August 25, 2021) The City of Frisco is modifying hours for some of its facilities and programs, catering to children, due to the surge of COVID cases in the region.

CLOSED FOR SEASON – Frisco Water Park:  The season is over for Frisco’s Outdoor Water Park, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane.  Once school started, the water park closed during weekdays. The facility will remain closed until next season.  We’re sad to disappoint; however, COVID surges impacted our ability to maintain the required number of certified lifeguards necessary to safely operate the Frisco Water Park.  There is one exception.  The popular Paws In The Pool remains scheduled for September 18.

CLOSED – Play Depot:  Beginning Friday, August 27, the childcare facility inside the Frisco Athletic Center will temporarily close until further notice.

CLOSED – Ready to Read Railroad:  Effective immediately, this edutainment amusement inside the Frisco Public Library is temporarily closed until further notice.

MOVING – Story Time & Children’s Programming:  Storytime will continue outside, as  ‘Story Time on the Square’.  Look for storytellers north of the building, in Simpson Plaza. Dates, times and capacities remain the same.  Events will be canceled during inclement weather.

Thank you for your support and understanding.  Follow social media accounts, Facebook and Twitter, for the City of Frisco @CityofFriscoTX, as well as @PlayFrisco and @FriscoLibrary for updates.  Check the city’s website at, too.
