'Tips' for Residential Sprinkler System Care

Tips for Residential Sprinkler System Care

  • Maintain 40-degree temperatures (or higher, whenever possible) to help protect residential sprinkler system piping and sprinkler heads.
  • Wrap sprinkler piping (lines) with insulation to maintain proper temperatures.
  • Ensure alarm systems (smoke, carbon dioxide) are monitored by an alarm company.  Such companies should notify Fire Departments whenever water is flowing within a homeowner’s sprinkler system.
  • Know where your fire sprinkler cutoff valve is located. This valve is separate from the regular cutoff valve for your house.
