 UPDATE: Frisco Police Investigate Homicide

FRISCO, TX – The Frisco Police Department continues to investigate after a Friday-night shooting left one person dead and another hospitalized with apparent gunshot wounds.   Officers responded to the call at the Stewart Creek Apartments in the 7500 block of Stonebrook Parkway at around 7:25 PM, on Friday, January 29.

Arriving officers located 17-year-old Chineye Jones of Frisco suffering from apparent gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.  Jones was a student at Frisco High School.

Officers also located an adult male victim who was transported by Frisco Fire/EMS to an area hospital, where he remains hospitalized.  His identity is not being released.

Officers were able to quickly identify and take into custody the suspected gunman, 19-year-old Artis Ray Martin of Frisco.  Martin was charged with Murder, a first-degree felony, and Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, a second-degree felony.  He is currently being held at the Collin County Detention Facility in lieu of $150,000 total bond.
