[ARCHIVED] Public Invited to Shape Vision for Two Future Frisco Parks

Shape your play-02

Play Frisco and Design Workshop, Inc. will host the first of several public meetings on Jan. 11, 2021 at 6 p.m., to help shape the future of Northwest Community Park, currently serving the mountain biking community, and the nearby, undeveloped Frisco on the Green Park.

The city will be working with the public along with the Dallas Off-Road Bike Association (DORBA) who currently manages the Northwest Community Park trails, to help form concepts for these two park sites.

This public meeting will provide an overview of the existing sites and allow for discussion of the potential amenities and design of the two park sites. Later this, conceptual plans will be presented at another meeting for additional public input.

The public may also complete an online survey to weigh in on plans for these two park sites. The survey will be open Jan. 11 - 22, 2021.

About the projects:

Northwest Community Park and Frisco on the Green Park are both located north of Panther Creek Parkway along Teel Parkway near the PGA of America headquarters and golf courses.

These sites are part of the City of Frisco Parks and Recreation Open Space Master Plan and will serve as an important link to existing trails as shown on the recently revised Hike and Bike Trail

Master Plan. The city aims to include certain elements of these plans into a new vision for the parks. These elements include:

    active and passive play elements

hike/bike trails and mountain bike trails

a focus on preserving existing views and sightlines

nature and natural resource education opportunities for the public
