FRISCO Weekly COVID-19 Update: August 15 - 21, 2020

(August 21, 2020) The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) continues to update its databases. As a result, today’s Collin County dashboard reflects a backlog of cases. We’ve been advised to expect fluctuation of numbers while upgrades to the system stabilize.

Frisco added 124 cumulative cases, including 100 recoveries and one death between August 15-21. Please note (as mentioned above): some of the ‘124 cases may be previously unreported and ‘older’ cases.  Also of note, this week Denton County determined a death reported on August 12 was not a Frisco resident after all.  That means Frisco has 500 active cases, 759 recoveries and 8 deaths between both Collin and Denton counties.

Frisco reminds everyone to take advantage of the free, saliva test being offered by the state, here at a testing site in Frisco.  Check out FriscoTexas.gov/coronavirus for more information on this testing and more information about the situation in Frisco.

This Frisco table provides more detailed information and as a reminder the City of Frisco’s Public Health Awareness dashboard provides a graphical representation of data contained in the table and access to the dashboards from both counties and the State of Texas.

Stop the Spread of Rumors:  Both FEMA and the CDC have webpages addressing rumors related to COVID-19.

*Please note:  The City of Frisco COVID-19 cumulative updates are issued weekly on Fridays. The city’s website will continue to provide daily updates Monday - Friday (generally by 6 p.m.)  Links to Collin and Denton County digital dashboards, as well the dashboard for Texas Department of Health Services are also available via the City of Frisco Public Health Awareness Dashboard. The dashboards are updated daily for those who are interested.
