Next phase of Warren Sports Complex Lake and Dam Improvements Underway

(September 18, 2020) The next phase of improvements to the lake and the dam at the Warren Sports Complex are underway. During Phase 2,  public access is closed to the lake and the dam (Phase 2 Closure Exhibit). The sidewalks on the north side of the lake closed in July for Phase I will remain closed. (see Phase 1 Closure Exhibit).

This project improvements will bring the lake and dam up to current Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) standards and improve the water quality of the lake.  Project highlights include:

  • Raising the dam
  • Constructing a new spillway and install outfall pipes
  • Reconstructing sidewalks
  • Excavating full perimeter of the pond for better fishing
  • Enhancing landscape to mitigate erosion and to compliment nearby Freedom Meadow.

The project’s anticipated completion is now March 2021 (weather permitting).
