Metal Recycling
Residents with current water bill and matching ID can drop off metal to be recycled at the Environmental Collection Center for no fee during Household Chemical Disposal Hours (Wednesdays 2 to 5 p.m., Fast Lane Fridays, and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.). If you have difficulty transporting your metal items, an Environmental Services crew can pick-up your metal items/appliances curbside.
- White Appliance and metal curbside pick-up is a $15.00 fee added to the resident’s next utility bill. Fill out the form online to schedule your pick-up.
- Pick-up for metal recycling occurs on Thursdays and must be scheduled before noon on the day before pick-up.
- Please note: we don’t accept lawn mowers, weed eaters, grills, or anything else with fuel or oil inside at the time of disposal.
Prescription Pills
We now accept prescription and over the counter medications at all Chunk Your Junk events. However, we can no longer accept them during regular Household Chemical Collection hours. We recommend that if you can not make it to the Chunk Your Junk event that you render other medications useless before disposal. These methods include crushing or adding medications to old coffee grinds, kitty litter, etc.
Once it is rendered useless, place in sealed bag or container (remember to remove all personal information from prescription bottles) and place in trash cart.
Products still in good condition from the Household Chemical Drop-off are stocked in the Reuse Center. This is open to the public as a free, self-serve option to obtain household chemicals. Though selection changes regularly, the products regularly available for reuse include:
- Automotive chemicals
- Household cleaners
- Lawn care (fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides)
- Paint (white/off-white paints can be tinted at a fraction of the price)
Electronics Recycling
City of Frisco Environmental Collection Center uses UER United Electronics Recycling to safely and securely recycle electronics. There is no refurbishing or reselling with this recycler, you are always welcome to take extra precautions and render your hard drive useless and/or wipe personal information. City of Frisco strives to be leaders in sustainable practices, this is why our recycler is located in Texas and does not ship electronics overseas.
Drop off for residents is free, for those with commercial quantities (more than 3 CPUs or televisions); UER can set up for a private contract meeting the electronic recycling needs.
