Mayor Jeff Cheney
Native Texan Jeff Cheney was elected Mayor of Frisco, Texas, in May 2017, and holds the distinction of being the youngest Mayor of Frisco. Since Mayor Cheney has taken office, Frisco has been recognized as the fastest growing city in America and the #1 Best Place to Live by Money Magazine. As an advocate for celebrating diversity of all faiths and ethnicity, Mayor Cheney founded the Mayor’s Inclusion Committee in 2019. He also helped grow the annual Frisco MLK Oration Scholarship dinner. Mayor Cheney has lived in Frisco 18 years. He has coached youth basketball, baseball and football for more than 10 years. Mayor Cheney attended the University of Texas-Austin where he was recognized with Highest Honors for his Bachelors and Masters in Accounting. Mayor Cheney and wife, Dana, were married in 2001 and have been blessed with three children: Zachary, Mason and Kaytlin.
Chief David Shilson
Chief Shilson has more than twenty years of law enforcement experience. Eighteen of those years have been with the Frisco Police Department, where he became Chief in November 2019. During his tenure, Chief Shilson served as a deputy chief over three of the department’s bureaus: Investigations, Operations and Services. Prior to coming to Frisco, Shilson was a police officer for the College Station Police Department. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Texas-Arlington and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M. Shilson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Law Enforcement Management of Texas and Senior Management Institute for Police. In 2013, Shilson was awarded Frisco PD Supervisor of the Year.
Sunitha Cheruvu has lived in Frisco for over a decade with her husband and three children. A servant leader with a passion for community service, she volunteers her time on various community boards and committees including the Frisco Police Department Training Advisory Board, Frisco Inclusion Advisory Committee, Institute for Law Enforcement Administration Advisory Board and Frisco Education Foundation Board. Her family is one the founding families of the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple where she works on their publications and civic community services efforts. Professionally, Ms. Cheruvu works at Southwest Airlines.
Charles Brazil, Jr.
Charles Brazil, Jr. is a native Texan and a 12 yr Frisco Resident. He was raised in Dallas’s South Oak Cliff and is an alumni of David W. Carter High School and the University of North Texas. He has lead equal employment opportunity compliance and supplier diversity program initiatives in Healthcare, Oil & Gas, and Beverage industries. He is currently a local real estate business owner and a member of the Keller Williams Realty International Luxury Division. Charles is a graduate of Leadership Frisco Class XXII, Frisco Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy, and the Texas Realtor’s Leadership Program. He also holds many professional real estate designations. He has been married for 27 yrs to his beautiful wife Daphne and a dad of 3 amazing daughters (and one Terri-Poo). Two of his daughters are alumni of FISD’s Frisco High School & Reedy High School. Charles and his family attend Life-Changing Faith Christian Fellowship Church in downtown Frisco were he serves as an Elder.
Daniel Rentie is College Minister of Paradigm College Ministry at Frisco First Baptist Church. Paradigm was just recently created in September 2019. Daniel is an alum of Wakeland High School & Texas Tech University. While in Lubbock, Daniel worked as a Site Coordinator at Estacado High School. Daniel has been highly invested in ministry & community work. He is passionate about leading others to know Christ, & bridging social & economic gaps amongst communities.
Jim Johnson is a co-founding and senior pastor of Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, Texas with over 37 years experience pastoring in Texas, Georgia and Florida. A native of Midland, Texas, Jim earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary and his BA and PhD from Baylor University. He and his wife, Robin, have three grown sons and three grandchildren.
