Junior Citizen's Fire Academy

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we have temporarily suspended registrations for community education activities. We will provide updates when available.

There will be no Jr CFA sessions in June 2021.

Does your middle school-er want to learn what it takes to be a Frisco Firefighter? The Frisco Fire Department offers Jr. Citizen’s Fire Academy (CFA), which is open to students who live in Frisco and/or attend Frisco ISD schools. The class is designed for students who are in the 6th, 7th or 8th grades as of April 1st of the school year prior to the JR CFA session.

The application does require a short essay written by the student. The essay prompt is: "What is the biggest safety concern for your age group and what can be done to solve the problem?"

Class attendees enjoy fun drills and challenges that simulate what a real firefighter would do in the course of a day’s work. Students are actively engaged as part of a ’company’ and participate in educational activities throughout the day. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends from across Frisco and learn about the fire service.

Class attendees will receive a complimentary shirt and water bottle.

Only 20 spots available per session.
