Frisco Fire Clown SirenAt Frisco Fire Safety Town we teach children about safety in a fun and interactive environment.  Frisco Fire Safety Town is a Community Education program of the Frisco Fire Department.   Our safety education classes focus on a number of safety topics, each with the goal of preventing injuries and teaching students how to be safe.  Our programs operate year-round and are always free of charge.  We are currently wrapping up our second year of programming and are celebrating having more than 75,000 visitors experience Frisco Fire Safety Town since opening in January, 2007!

Safety lessons start in our educational facility which includes  classrooms, an interactive fire engine, and a safety house with a realistic living area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom for children to explore and learn about home hazards, severe weather, fire safety and more.

Our outdoor ‘town’ resembles a miniature Frisco complete with real buildings that represent Frisco area businesses, all created at a 5/8th scale.  Among the Safety Town buildings are scaled homes built by the same homebuilders who build Frisco area homes. Intermingled with the home and business buildings are paved and marked streets complete with working traffic signals, a railroad crossing and a toll booth.

At Frisco Fire Safety Town we teach children how to be safe while keeping the classes upbeat.  We use hands-on activities wherever possible.  For example, during classes about the importance of seat belts, students drive battery-operated jeeps throughout the outdoor streets of Safety Town. They also ride bicycles after their classroom lessons about wearing helmets while skating or cycling.
