Meeting In A Box

What is a "Meeting in a Box"?

The City of Frisco wants to get as much input as possible on the
update to the City's Comprehensive Plan. The "Meeting in a Box"
is an option that allows your group to help shape the City's plan
through discussions at your own meeting or gathering. We hope
you'll join in and use it!

Here's how the Meeting in a Box works:

You and your friends or group schedule a time to discuss Frisco's
future choices (more on this below). You register with the City as
the host of a meeting. The City provides you materials to use
during your session and instructions for a productive discussion.

You hold the meeting when and where you want. Afterwards, you
return the materials and your results to the City (results can be
submitted online or on paper - your choice). They are considered
along with the feedback we receive online, at Community Open
Houses
, and through other means.

Meeting in a Box Options

Box A - Growth Scenarios

Box B - Implementation Strategies & Actions

Box A is available during the time the City is considering alternative Growth Scenarios - different possible futures for Frisco's growth and development. There will be information about various aspects of Frisco’s future – guiding principles, growth scenarios, and as a place to live, work, learn, play, & travel.

This Meeting in a Box asks your group to weigh in on development concepts for major locations in Frisco, overall patterns and intensity of development, and the character they create for the Frisco of the future. You will use maps, markers and a workbook to respond to three different scenarios for Frisco's growth.

Meeting in a Box A will be available September  8th - 26th, 2014. You should expect to spend 1½ to 2 hours on this meeting in a box, though your group can choose to spend more or less time than this.

This Meeting in a Box asks your group to provide feedback about tools like development incentives, requirements or guidelines; funding tools to use;
sectors for focus as Frisco seeks new economic development; partnerships with the private sector or educational organizations and other techniques to achieve the goals set forth in the new plan. You will also provide your priorities for public funding for various capital projects, annual programs and other investments.

This Meeting in a Box kit uses informational handouts, charts you fill in, and an optional computerized format for setting funding priorities.

Meeting in a Box B will be available during October and November 2014. You should expect to spend 1½ to 2 hours on this meeting in a box, though your group can choose to spend more or less time than this.
