12001 Independence Pkwy. has been identified as a site for the planned Frisco Fire Training Center.
In 2011, the Frisco Fire Department responded to more than 8,200 calls for service . Each call for service has its own unique and challenging circumstances that potentially place Frisco firefighters in hazardous situations. Frisco firefighters are able to safely mitigate these hazardous situations based on the variety of classroom and practical training they receive. With this in mind, it is a top priority of the Frisco Fire Department to provide a highly trained workforce for Frisco's citizens and visitors.

The new Frisco Fire Training Center will be a state-of-the-art emergency operations training facility where firefighters receive the knowledge and experience necessary to make hazardous situations safer situations.
The training center will include buildings offering a variety of scenarios that present firefighters with a realistic interactive training experience.
Within these buildings props will mimic hazards firefighters may face at emergency scenes. The props will operate using clean burning, environmentally friendly fuels such as natural gas. Non-toxic artificial smoke generators will be used to mimic smoke conditions.
