Rufus Recycles Mascot
Everyone loves the huggable Rufus Recycles, the friendly mascot for Environmental Services. We need volunteers to be Rufus at special events. Volunteer must be at least 14 years old, be between 5’3” - 6’ tall and not weigh more than 170 pounds.

Storm Drain Marking Project
This is a new program that the Frisco Water Division is taking on, and we need your help! Help reduce pollution (like chemicals, trash, fertilizers, yard waste) from entering storm drains and polluting our local water bodies by labeling storm drain inlets with a special educational tile.
You and/or your volunteer group will meet in a designated neighborhood with a City of Frisco employee who will demonstrate the procedure of placing tiles on storm drain inlets. All the necessary materials, as well as a map, and tracking forms will be provided to help your group mark the remaining storm drains in that area.

Frisco Citizens On Patrol
COPs is a non-confrontational crime prevention/deterrent program designed to reduce crime through cooperation between citizens and police. Volunteers main responsibility is to patrol designated areas by driving their own vehicles. They also assist the Frisco Police Department with special events, conducting radar surveys, manning "Skywatch" and assisting with traffic control. Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older, a U.S. citizen and complete the Citizen's Police Academy. For more information, visit www.FriscoCOPs.org.
Frisco Citizen's Police Academy Alumni
The FCPAAA is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Frisco by supporting the Frisco Police Department through volunteerism and community activities including child fingerprinting, assisting McGruff the Crime Dog, handling crime prevention literature and more. Communications Support
Volunteers are needed to assist with various office duties such as copying and filing of newspaper articles, organizing project paperwork and data entry. Computer skills, organization, and attention to detail are necessary. Flexible shifts available from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Must commit to 5 hours a week. Frisco Fire Safety Town Jr. Helping Hands - Teen Volunteers
During the summer months, we utilize teen volunteers to supplement our regular staff to assist with the large numbers of visitors we encounter on a daily basis. Duties would include assisting with classroom activities, assisting with bike riding time in the village and providing ‘Safe and Sound Walk Around’ tours of the facility. There is a mandatory training process the first week of summer vacation. Spots are limited so register early. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old. Friday Nights are Family Nights at Frisco Fire Safety Town - Teen and Adult volunteers
This summer, every Friday night in June, July and August, Safety Town will be open to the public. Approximately 15 volunteers per night are needed. The volunteer time commitment is 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Duties will include assisting and guiding visitors inside our facility in such areas as the interactive fire engine, the smoke bedroom, the severe weather room and the new after-the-fire theatre area. Also, assistance will be needed in our mini-town with story time and bike & jeep riding activities. Advance training will be provided. Frisco Fire Safety Town Helping Hands - Adult Volunteers
Our staff of safety educators and firefighters is supplemented by our staff of volunteers known as Helping Hands. We have current openings for front desk greeters as well as classroom activity facilitators. Our front desk greeters welcome visitors to our award winning facility as well as help with various administrative tasks. Our facilitators assist our educators with program related activities and ride time in the village. We do ask our volunteers to make a minimum commitment of a half day, once per week. Library - Adult Services Volunteer
Adult Services Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be familiar with library numbering systems. On site training will be provided. Flexible shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Circulation Volunteer: Volunteers will assist the Frisco Public Library with database entry, filing paperwork, pulling items for hold and shelving items.
Computer Class Assistant: Volunteers will assist the instructor to maintain productive class time by providing individual assistance to participants. Must be computer literate, prior teaching or tutoring experience helpful, good command of the English language and excellent interpersonal skills. Onsite training will be provided.
Computer Lab Assistant: Volunteers will assist Library patrons with computer related questions ranging from basic use to intermediate knowledge. Must be computer and internet proficient with good command of the English language and interpersonal skills. Onsite training will be provided.
Library - FAAB Volunteen

Express Check-Out Expert: During our busier times, volunteers will stay at the express check-out machine stations and assist patrons with checking materials out, unlocking CDs and DVDs, and replacing receipt paper. Volunteers will also assist patrons with the copy machine and community printer.
Board Book Patrol: Volunteers will patrol the board book area, making sure books are shelved in the correct section.
Storytime/Program Attendant: Volunteers will distribute and collect tickets for storytimes and/or programs.
Craft Engineer: Volunteers will assist librarians in preparing craft projects for upcoming children’s programs.
Book Runner: Volunteers will assist librarians by finding books in the circulation room that have not yet been returned to shelves.
Circulation Assistant: Volunteers will assist the circulation department on the first floor with sorting book carts and shelving books.
