(February 11, 2011) Trash and recycling services continue to run as scheduled this week; however, due to Wednesday's inclement weather, a few homes on Wednesday’s route had to be serviced on Thursday. That caused service to some homes with Thursday service to be pushed to Friday. Residents who did not have their trash and recycling collected on Thursday should leave carts out for service today, Friday, February 11.
Trash and recycling service for Friday’s routes will begin once Thursday's routes are finished. Plans are already underway to continue trash and recycling service on Saturday, February 12, to make up any missed collections on Friday.
Residents who missed trash and recycling service last week due to inclement weather are advised to place overflow items in bags for ‘pick up’ this week on their regularly scheduled service day. Items must be contained in plastic bags, tied and placed three (3) feet away from carts.
Residents who have overflow recyclables may bring those to the Environmental Collection Center (ECC), 6616 Walnut Street, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. or Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The ECC is closed Sundays.
The next Chunk Your Junk event happens tomorrow, February 12, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Environmental Collection Center. Please bring your unwanted items for safe disposal, recycling or donation.
