Tonight's SRT/DNT Interchange closures: Southwest-bound SRT, northeast-bound SH 121, northbound Dallas Parkway

(August 3, 2011) The SRT/DNT interchange closures scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, August 3, include the southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) near the Dallas North Tollway (DNT), the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road east of the DNT, and northbound Dallas Parkway near the SRT.  The closures begin at 9:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.  The details of each closure are described below:

The southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway main lanes will be closed between Hillcrest Road and Legacy Drive.  Southwest-bound traffic will be diverted onto the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road at the exit to Preston Road and will be able to re-enter the SRT at Legacy Drive.

The northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road will be closed between Dallas Parkway and Parkwood Boulevard.  Northeast-bound traffic will be diverted south on Dallas Parkway, east on Headquarters Drive, and then north on Parkwood Boulevard to reach SH 121.

The northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and Gaylord Parkway in Frisco.  Northbound traffic will be diverted east on Headquarters Drive to Parkwood Boulevard in order to continue their journey north.

The northbound DNT exit ramp to Gaylord Parkway will be closed.  Northbound DNT traffic wishing to exit to Gaylord Parkway should take the next exit (for Lebanon Road) and make a u-turn at John Hickman Parkway.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.

These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each weeknight in August.  Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night.  Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
