September 6 Overnight Closures at the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Dallas North Tollway interchange

(September 6, 2011) The closures scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, September 6, include the southbound Dallas North Tollway (DNT) near the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT), the northeast-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway near the DNT, and northbound Dallas Parkway at the SRT.  The closures begin at 9:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.  The details of each closure are described below:

The southbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Gaylord Parkway in Frisco and Headquarters Drive in Plano.  Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Gaylord Parkway and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Legacy Drive in Plano.

The northeast-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway main lanes will be closed at Parkwood Boulevard.  Northeast-bound traffic will be diverted onto the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road at the exit to Parkwood Boulevard and will be able to re-enter the SRT just east of Parkwood Boulevard.

The northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and IKEA Drive in Frisco.  Northbound traffic will be diverted east on Headquarters Drive to Parkwood Boulevard in order to continue their journey north.  Traffic on the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road wishing to go north on Dallas Parkway will need to use Parkwood Boulevard as an alternate route.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.

These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each weeknight in September.  Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night.  Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
