Time-of-day Watering Restrictions Effective March 11 with Switch to Daylight Saving Time

(March 11, 2012)  Starting Sunday, March 11, the time-of-day restrictions of the city’s Water Management Plan go into effect with Daylight Saving Time (DST).  During DST outdoor watering is not allowed between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. and between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. This year DST runs from March 11 through November 4.

In addition to time-of-day rules, restrictions under Stage 3 of the city’s Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Response Plan remain in effect. The City of Frisco moved to Stage 3 restrictions November 1, 2011, at the direction of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). Frisco’s Stage 3 allows watering on trash collection day -- only if necessary.  The city urges residents to keep automatic sprinkler systems ‘turned off’ at this time.

Stage 3 allows residents to use hand-held and soaker hoses to help protect home foundations, pools, trees and shrubs.
