(March 22, 2013) Stonebrook Parkway will be closed between Dallas Parkway and Parkwood Blvd. on Wednesday, March 27 starting at 9 a.m. The road will remain closed for five to six months while crews install water line and widen road to six lanes.

During this third phase of the Stonebrook Parkway Improvement Project, detour signs will be posted directing motorists to use Parkwood Blvd., Lebanon Rd., and Dallas Parkway as alternate routes. During this road closure, Frisco High School traffic will still be able to access the high school driveway on Stonebrook Parkway, as described below:

-        Eastbound traffic on Stonebrook Parkway will be detoured south on Dallas Parkway, east on Lebanon Rd., then north on Parkwood Blvd. to reach Frisco High School or to continue on Stonebrook Parkway.

-        Westbound traffic on Stonebrook Parkway will be detoured south on Parkwood Blvd., then west on Lebanon Rd. to reach Dallas Parkway.  The only traffic allowed to drive west of Parkwood Blvd. will be high school related traffic.

-        Frisco High School traffic must approach the Stonebrook Pkwy. driveway from the east side of the school. Students living west of the school will need to use Parkwood Blvd. to drive to the east side of the school before turning west onto Stonebrook Parkway to reach the driveway.  The school driveway will continue to operate as a one-way inbound driveway during its specified times.  At other times of the day, traffic leaving the school from this driveway will have to turn right.  School traffic should pay special attention since traffic to-and-from the driveway will share the south half of Stonebrook Parkway (in line with the shifted traffic that is currently in place east of Parkwood Blvd.).

Motorists should use caution as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns at each intersection.  To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to choose an alternate route in advance. Alternate east/west routes between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway are Main Street and Lebanon Road.

This is part of the Stonebrook Parkway Improvement Project between Preston Road and the Dallas North Tollway that will widen the road to a six-lane, divided roadway and includes the extension of an underground water line. Phase 1, which added dual left-turn lanes on westbound Rolater Road at Preston Road, is complete.  Phase 2 -- which encompasses the work between Parkwood Blvd. and Preston Rd. – is ongoing, on schedule and expected to finish in September. Phase 3, which encompasses work between Dallas Parkway and Parkwood Blvd., is estimated to be complete in five or six months.  Phase 3-B will repave the intersection of Stonebrook Parkway and Parkwood Blvd. and is expected to be finished by mid 2014.  Phase 4 will add dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn lane on eastbound Stonebrook Parkway at Dallas Parkway.  Phase 4 is expected to start in mid 2014 and be completed by December 2014. Information about the project can be found online
