(October 24, 2013) Many streets in the Frisco Square area will be closed Saturday, Oct. 26, for the Light the Night Walkathon.  Some of the roads close at 8 a.m. and others close at 6 p.m.  All of the roads will reopen by 8:30 p.m.  A description of the road closures and the various events in the Frisco Square area are described below. See map for further details:

Road Closures at 8 a.m.

The northeast quadrant of Simpson Plaza will close Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and will remain closed all day.  Traffic will not be able to travel north on Library Street to enter the plaza.  Traffic also will not be able to travel west on Frisco Square Boulevard to enter the plaza.  Traffic will still be able to enter the Plaza using Coleman Boulevard from the north, Frisco Square Boulevard from the west and Church Street from the south.  However, they will not be able to travel all the way around the plaza, but will instead have to exit the plaza by driving south on Library Street.

Early Voting at the Frisco Senior Center

Elliott Drive, or they can take Cotton Gin Road and then drive north on Library Street and turn right onto Burnham Street.

Access to the Frisco Public Library

The Frisco Public Library will be open as usual between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and parking will be available in front of the building and in the free parking garage behind the building.  Patrons driving to the library can approach the building from any direction except the east.  Detour signs will be posted.  The road in front of the library will be closed to inbound traffic as soon as the library closes.  Motorists picking up a library patron after 6 p.m. should arrange to do so behind the building.

The Shawnee Trail Cowboy Day Event will be taking place at the Frisco Heritage Center between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Access to the event will not be restricted by any road closures because they take place later in the day.
