(September 27, 2011) The Sam Rayburn Tollway/Dallas North Tollway interchange closures scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, September 27, include southbound Dallas Parkway, northbound Dallas Parkway, and the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road. The closures begin at 9:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The details of each closure are described below:
The southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Gaylord Parkway in Frisco and Headquarters Drive in Plano. During this closure, all southbound traffic will be directed to turn right onto Warren Parkway or Gaylord Parkway and then use Legacy Drive as a detour. Southbound traffic on the Dallas North Tollway will not be able to exit to SH 121 and should plan to exit earlier and use Legacy Drive as an alternative route. Residents of Stonebriar Creek Estates will need to use the entrance to their neighborhood on Legacy Drive.
The northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and SH 121. Northbound traffic will be diverted east on Headquarters Drive to Parkwood Boulevard in order to continue their journey north.
The southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road will be closed between southbound Dallas Parkway and the southwest-bound SRT exit ramp to Legacy Drive. Southwest-bound traffic needing to continue southwest on SH 121 or the Sam Rayburn Tollway or to go south on Dallas Parkway or the Dallas North Tollway should go south on Parkwood Boulevard to Headquarters Drive and follow the detour signs. (Southwest-bound traffic needing to go north on Dallas Parkway or the Dallas North Tollway will be able to turn right onto Dallas Parkway as usual.)
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.
These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each weeknight in September. Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night. Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
