Preston Road bridge over US 380 closed Wednesday, February 1, followed by traffic switch

(January 31, 2012) As part of TxDOT’s widening project, the Preston Road bridge over US 380 will be closed between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1.  Motorists on Preston Road should expect delays at US 380 during this time.

During the closure, northbound and southbound traffic on Preston Road that would normally use the bridge to cross over US 380 will be detoured onto the Preston Road frontage roads. Traffic on Preston will have to go through the traffic signal at US 380.

When the bridge reopens at 3:00 p.m., traffic will be switched onto the new bridge (located just east of the original bridge).  Motorists are urged to use caution in the area as people become accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
