Phone Service Disrupted after Fiber Line Cut by City Contractors; Police Setup Patrols in Area

(February 25, 2011) Approximately 22 homes are without phone service after city contractors cut a fiber line that runs along Eldorado Parkway, west of Dallas North Tollway.

As a result, Time Warner customers residing on the following streets may be without phone service:

·         Burr Oak

·         Dutch Hollow

·         Falls River

·         Mineral Point

·         Plum Valley

·         Port Edwards

·         Seymour

·         Talon

The fiber optic line was cut at approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.

As a result, the Frisco Police Department will step up patrols in the area to respond to emergencies for those without cell phones.

Time Warner utility repair crews have been dispatched to the area; however, company representatives tell Frisco Fire it could take at least five hours to restore service.

Residents are advised to check their phones for service. If they hear a dial tone, there is NO need to call 911, unless there is an emergency.
