Follow Detour to Access Municipal Center and Part of Frisco Square
(March 23, 2012) The northwest quadrant of Simpson Plaza, which is in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, will be closed on Saturday, March 24, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow foundation work on Pizzeria Testa, which is being constructed on the west end of the plaza.
The closure will require motorists approaching on Main Street to take a detour to access City Hall, Frisco Public Library and parts of Frisco Square. During this closure, motorists will not be able to circulate all the way around the one-way plaza, which will change how they approach and leave the Frisco Square area... view the map.
Coleman Boulevard will remain open with access to those businesses on that street and to the large Frisco Square parking lots behind those businesses. However, motorists will not be able to use Coleman Boulevard to reach the Municipal Center or the front doors of any businesses that face the plaza. Instead, motorists on Main Street will need to use World Cup Way as an alternate route. Detour signs will be posted. Visitors will not be able to circulate around the plaza to look for a parking space, but plenty of parking is available in the free Municipal Parking Garage located behind City Hall and Frisco Public Library.
Motorists on Main Street heading for Next Step Dance and the offices located at 6136 Frisco Square Blvd. can use Coleman Boulevard to reach the large parking lot behind that building; but if they want to drive in front of the building, they will need to use Frisco Street to reach Frisco Square Boulevard. After driving in front of these businesses, motorists will be forced to exit the plaza and head north on Coleman Boulevard.
