PAPER BALLOTS TO BE USED IN TEN PRECINCTS FOR MAY 12 ELECTION

(May 9, 2012) On Election Day, Saturday, May 12, some Frisco voters will be casting paper ballots in the City of Frisco / Frisco ISD general elections.  The need to utilize paper ballots is a result of a precinct programming error.

Ten Collin County precincts are affected (14, 38, 89, 135, 139, 163, 167, 169, 176, and 134).  Nine of the precincts are FISD precincts, located outside Frisco city limits.

Paper ballots will reflect the correction, as prescribed by 52.006 of the Texas Election Code, in the form of an ‘X’ marked through candidates’ names not applicable to the precinct.

The City of Frisco and Frisco ISD have contracted with Denton County to administer both Collin and Denton County portions of the city-school elections.  Denton County advises it has reported the error to the Texas Secretary of State.   The error does not impact the Texas primary election to be held May 29.

If you have further questions, please contact Denton County Elections Administration.
