(October 6, 2011) The Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/Dallas North Tollway (DNT) interchange closures scheduled for tonight, Thursday, October 6, include both directions of the Dallas North Tollway and the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road. The closures begin at 9:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The details of each closure are described below:
The southbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between SH 121 and Headquarters Drive in Plano. Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at SH 121 and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Headquarters Drive in Plano.
The northbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and Gaylord Parkway in Frisco. Northbound traffic will be diverted onto the northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Headquarter Drive and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Gaylord Parkway.
The southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road will be closed between Parkwood Boulevard and the southwest-bound SRT exit ramp to Legacy Drive. Southwest-bound traffic will be detoured either north or south on Parkwood Boulevard depending on their destination. Southwest-bound traffic needing to go north on Dallas Parkway or the DNT, should go north on Parkwood Boulevard and then west on Gaylord Parkway. Traffic needing to continue southwest on SH 121 or the SRT or to go south on Dallas Parkway or the DNT should go south on Parkwood Boulevard to Headquarters Drive and follow the detour signs.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.
These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each weeknight in October. Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night. Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
