(November 9, 2011) The Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/Dallas North Tollway (DNT) interchange closures scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, November 9, include the southbound DNT, the northeast-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway and the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road. The closures begin at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. tonight and will end by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The details of each closure are described below:
The southbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Stonebrook Parkway and Warren Parkway starting at 10:00 p.m. tonight and will reopen by 2:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. During this closure, southbound traffic on the DNT will be diverted on the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Stonebrook Parkway and will be able to re-enter the DNT just north of Warren Parkway.
The northeast-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway main lanes will be closed between Legacy Drive and Parkwood Boulevard starting at 9:00 p.m. tonight and will reopen by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. During this closure, northeast-bound traffic on the SRT will be diverted onto the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road just east of Legacy Drive and will be able to re-enter the SRT east of Parkwood Boulevard.
The southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road will be closed between Gaylord Parkway and the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road starting at 10:00 p.m. tonight and will reopen by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. During this closure, all southbound traffic on Dallas Parkway will be directed to turn right onto Warren Parkway or Gaylord Parkway and then use Legacy Drive as a detour. Southbound traffic on the DNT will not be able to exit to SH 121 and should plan to exit earlier and use Legacy Drive as an alternative route. Residents of Stonebriar Creek Estates will need to use the entrance to their neighborhood on Legacy Drive.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.
These road closures are part of NTTA’s interchange construction project which is prompting a series of overnight closures that will occur each night in November. Depending on the contractor’s schedule, a different combination of main lanes and/or frontage roads will be closed each night. Daily updates of each closure are available on www.ntta.org by clicking on “general lane and ramp closures” and the City of Frisco will announce each night’s closure as the information becomes available.
