(March 11, 2011) The northbound exit ramp from the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) to the SH 121 frontage roads will be closed permanently starting at 9:00 p.m. Monday night, March 14. The exit ramp is being demolished to make room for the new highway ramp that will provide a direct connection between northbound Dallas North Tollway (DNT) and the northeast-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT).
Starting Monday night, all northbound traffic on the DNT that wants to access the SRT or the SH 121 frontage roads must exit the tollway earlier, at Headquarters Drive. Detour signs will be posted.
This will be the new permanent route for northbound DNT traffic headed for the SH 121 frontage roads. Northbound DNT traffic headed for the main lanes of the SRT will use this detour route until late summer 2011 when the new highway ramp is expected to open.
This ramp closure is part of NTTA’s interchange construction project. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone.
