(July 5, 2011) The traffic switch originally scheduled for July 6, at the intersection of Legacy Drive and Lebanon Road has been moved to Thursday, July 7. Traffic in all directions will return to the lanes that they used before construction began. Traffic on both roads will flow again on the opposite sides of the medians. The traffic switch will begin at 9:00 a.m. on July 7 (weather permitting) and will cause additional delay intermittently throughout the day. Motorists are urged to use caution approaching the intersection of Legacy Drive and Lebanon Road on Thursday while the traffic is being switched and should be prepared for the new traffic pattern that will be in place by Thursday evening.
After this traffic switch, some of the new turn lanes will remain closed for the next phase of the project while work is finished in the medians of the roadways. Motorists will also encounter intermittent lane closures of the new through lane adjacent to the median. However, the delays that have been experienced at this intersection during construction will be significantly reduced because there will always be at least two through lanes open in every direction for the remainder of the project.
This traffic switch is necessary for the intersection reconstruction project at Legacy Drive and Lebanon Road. As a result, the bump in the intersection has been corrected and additional through lanes and turn lanes have been built. Once the project is complete, all four directions of the intersection will have two left-turn lanes, three through lanes, and most will have a right-turn lane.
