(October 15, 2010) As part of NTTA’s interchange construction project at the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) and S.H. 121, there will be two short-term lane closures occurring this weekend and a long-term lane closure that starts on Monday, October 18. Each closure is described below:
Northbound Dallas Parkway will be reduced to one lane between S.H. 121 and IKEA Drive on Saturday, October 16. This closure will start at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning and is expected to last until 4 p.m. During this closure, traffic on northbound Dallas Parkway will only have one through lane as it travels through the intersection with S.H. 121. Motorists on northbound Dallas Parkway should expect some delays at S.H. 121.
Southbound DNT will be reduced to one lane where it crosses over S.H. 121 beginning on Saturday, October 16 at 8 p.m. continuing through 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 17. During this 24 hour closure, motorists on the southbound Tollway should expect delays at S.H. 121.
One lane of the northeast-bound S.H. 121 frontage road will be closed at Dallas Parkway starting Monday, October 18, and continuing through November 24 (weather permitting). Specifically, the right lane will be closed to allow construction of an overpass column. During this closure, motorists should expect delays on the northeast-bound S.H. 121 frontage road at Dallas Parkway during peak periods.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in these construction zones.
